inventory number: w0148
100 x 66 cm

A new language of forms requires a new awareness of seeing. From suggestions of constructivism Friedrich Neubauer develops his first known abstract work in tension-filled black and white with shaded green-blue. Did he make forms from his unconscious visible? Or has Friedrich Neubauer now caught up with the international development after being barred from it during the time of the “Third Reich” due to the ban of “degenerated art” and other restraints and hindrances after the war and the post war-period? This form of artistic expression is going to determine his work further on. New materials will be added: metal parts like cogwheels, punched metal sheets, weights, wires, wooden cubes and beams. Electronic units indicate the technical development.
