The “Coquette” remains unfinished. The lovely picture of a girl facing the looker-on was so to speak “written” in oil. Despite of the ephemeral treatment of detail the picture is very expressive. The face turned towards the looker-on, the brown curls, the bright incandescent skin modeled by light accents, the yellow cloth against the dark back_ground give the little nude study deepness as well as sensuality.
