The female figure plastically setting herself apart from the dark-green background catches the eye of the looker-on. Friedrich Neubauer works with rich contrasts, bright flesh tones on a coral-colored blanket. The dark wood of the armchair and the black shoes of the model create a foundation in the empty space. The full dark-blonde hair of the model crowns the picture, face and individuality are not as important as the display of female corporeality.
