On the occasion of a division competition Friedrich Neubauer produced two studies “In the Battle Field” in February 1943. He won the eighth prize for the realistic picture of the combat actions and additionally received five reichsmark (German currency 1924 -1948) as is noted on the back of the card. The works did not survive the war. The drawing above is just documented by photograph.
