After having finally arrived at his quarters Neubauer documents the situation in his sketch pad. The hiking stick is in the corner, the coat is spread over the bed, the boots are at rest as well. The rustic bed is prepared. The draughtsman sketches this interior. The perspective is used as an important means for detailed rendition. The floorboards point out the depth of the room.
